Feb. 7th. Couldn't ask for a more beautiful day, warm weather (65*) sunny this morning, rainy this afternoon...matches any mood I'm in...and my mood is sewing.
I began this process because of a burnt finger, who knew my potholders had simply worn out...literally.

March 7th, Did I say in my last entry we were seeing the last snow of
the season? Uh-huh...thought so, so why is it snowing now?! And the
wind! Didn't realize I had that many 'cracks' in the parsonage!

I wanted to tell of a blessing God just did in our lives. One, to encourage you, and two, to give God the glory. Most of you probably have had a prayer answered before, and when we think of prayers we tend to think in terms of LARGE needs, don't bug God with the little things, am I right? I want to encourage you talk to God! Is He not your friend? Your Father? Hello my friend!
I
have not wanted to talk about the following episode, have had so many
problems with it, I finally decided to started talking about it, and it has gotten
better, so thought perhaps if I shared with my friends, I could be well.
I believe in prayer, and Praise the Lord for His mercies. My God is faithful.

Good Morning,
Just setting here watching the snowflakes fly. The fields are mostly planted, and the sound of crop dusters has been silenced today. Quite cold too. We are only getting a dustin', the rest of the state is covered with snow, several places are reporting a foot of snow. Made me think of days gone by...good days.

Ever been around when someone is walking & talking in their sleep? No? Lucky you!
My first experience with this was on our honey-moon night....not funny! Some day, I may share that story...maybe.
After almost 15 years of marriage (come March 27th ) I still haven't gotten used to it! It still causes me panic, to be awakened to HIS panic, in theTheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-73425559776526597122011-09-22T09:21:00.001-05:002011-09-30T09:59:57.057-05:00Just another day
What a pretty day we had....we are supposed to pay for it tomorrow!
Bad weather working its way our way, we were too warm 75*, and the cold
front coming is supposed to drop temps over 40 degrees, and that
means, bad, BAD, weather, well, it is that time of year! I found that I look like a cartoon, so much rain that I have been driving the car to church. What's so funny about that? I tell my children a story before they go to bed "When I was a little girl", and of course we laugh over the ones when I say, "When your daddy & I were just married, etc..."
My first electrical storm here.
We came summer before last, I had been here to visit this church a few times before, my husband was preaching for them on occasion.
This time we had arrived as pastors, we had just TheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-10516372127497172092011-09-20T09:03:00.005-05:002011-09-30T10:02:51.145-05:00Patience is a virtue...
Patience is a virtue, right? I also know NOT to pray for more patience....who wants trials?
But I can tell you, #7, God's perfect #, just made her entrance to the Rev.'s farm.....
My brooder is ready and waiting...
It's real fancy....plastic tub, with an old torn T-shirt and then paper towels on top....
The light hanging my husband fixed, looks ridiculous!

Baby chicks have arrived at the parsonage!
Who knew hatching could be this addictive??!!
I have 5 little chicks so far, 2 more have pipped. The other eggs so far are setting quietly as possible, with 5 chicks rolling them around.
I have found this excitement may, or may not, wear off, but I certainly love how my family are enjoying the new life in our house!
This morning when my sonTheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-133289486704846272011-09-19T10:15:00.001-05:002011-09-19T10:17:49.410-05:00Hatch Day Part 3
One is out of the egg, another you can see it's beak, and it's rocking!
Yeah....the one out is a buff. The next one to come is a buff too!
My children saw it happen! I thought it would be later, and my husband came down the hall and said, "hurry"...you could here the chirping from the kitchen! Within 5 minutes more it had cracked it's egg all around, and then about a minute TheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-17214186094749335182011-09-19T10:13:00.001-05:002011-09-19T10:13:33.582-05:00Hatch Day part 2
We just got back home about 30 minutes ago, (they've been alone for almost 12 hours!!)
5 eggs have pipped, no babies out...but I hear chirping!!
The Rev.'s aunt is about the same, close to death.
My son's eye is almost completely better...Praise the Lord!
Apparently, there was some excitement down the road from the parsonage while we were gone. One of the farmers was burning his crop stubble, TheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-21425450380530547712011-09-19T10:03:00.000-05:002011-09-19T10:03:02.702-05:00Hatch Day!
I have peeping!!!I'm so excited!! When I checked on the eggs this morning my daughter and I heard chirping! Not thirty minutes later the Rev. came thru and said, "Come Quick!" and there was 'peeping'! (2 eggs have little cracked shells!!!) Oh, that's a good thing!! This is a welcome bit of good here at the parsonage, especially after last night's episode!I haven't had a TheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-53185481691111416932011-09-19T09:10:00.002-05:002011-10-31T08:41:21.959-05:00How I became the Rev.'s wife.
Now, I'm sure most of you had a regular sort of romance, you saw your spouse, fell in love, married, etc... The Rev. was in the Marine Corp., my parents had just moved to a new church in a BIG (for us it surely was) town. There just happened to be TWO churches of the same denomination in the BIG town! The other church was not to far from ours, and the pastors were a very nice couple, who TheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-20911231634928844112011-09-17T19:44:00.002-05:002011-09-17T19:45:36.981-05:00Waiting...waiting...
I have found out, with certainity, that I am not really a patient person, no, this is becoming quite apparent with my attitude on these little eggs! We have ALL been watching, listening, & waiting...
Wednesday is the due date..I'm not really 'wishing' my days away... but I've checked the clock, the calendar, and the clock again...multiple times...
This week-end was a difficult TheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-33290035788781940092011-09-16T18:55:00.000-05:002011-09-26T14:19:50.834-05:00A Cold Night in the Church Van
Feb. 23 - Today is the last day I turn my eggs...now, I just watch the temps, & keep it humid inside.
I heard a scratching noise... small, but several! So excited! There is life within those tiny shells!! Course they do say, Don't count your chickens before they hatch....
Thirteen eggs!
Would love 13 baby chicks!
Last night was our youth rally. We had to TheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-61946122474534085752011-09-16T18:49:00.000-05:002011-09-30T08:41:52.184-05:00Brush Arbor Revivial
There is so much that I have to delete, and simply keep to myself...but you must, you absolutely must keep a sense of humor in the ministry.
I have been asked numerous times if my husband uses our children and myself as 'sermon material'. Yes, he certainly does! Some funny, some not so funny. I have set on pew #2 all my life (my TheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-58838806613917476422011-09-16T16:29:00.000-05:002011-09-26T14:19:27.158-05:00Candling the Eggs
Okay, here's the current tally.
Began with 24 eggs sent to me (9 were bonus)
22 made it into the incubator (2 were damaged in shipping) (Great packaging...rough P.O.)
Broke 1 with a thermometer (trying to install a wiggler) that made 21.
*Tonight at 9:30 pm I candled my eggs! I was very nervous, I had put so much effort & prayer into these fragile little things...so with trepidation I beganTheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-70142249873020850712011-09-16T16:13:00.000-05:002011-09-26T14:20:06.207-05:00pt. 5
I'm not really sure about the dimensions of the coop...he's told me several times...I retained that info really well...NOT! I know that I walk so far this way, and can reach so far that way. Isn't that all that matters?
The weather is still so cold; coats gloves & mittens must be worn to brave the outdoors, but it's for a good cause...the breakfast table! ;-)
I don't think I mentioned TheParsonsWifehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14057851058915041599noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1125959868903267865.post-83539509352751801822011-09-16T15:43:00.000-05:002011-09-26T14:08:09.895-05:00pt. 4 Poor Boy Supper
Feb. 20th This is a Wednesday, that's our church night.
Our "Poor boy Supper" was a success, due solely to the great members of our congregation who pitch in and help with gusto! Great time of fundraising, and raised a goodly amount of funds!
A slight problem...I've turned the eggs twice on two different nights;I'm a bad hatcher, so much for the 6 to 8 turns per day!

Sides are up on the chicken coop!! (and that was with 2 church people stopping by for visits!)
Roof and door tomorrow ( ) please, please, please!!
I have waited so long! I have tried to be patient! Haven't I? Yes! (If you ask me!) Was this too much to ask? He is very busy, but so am I! (Did I say that? perhaps I only thought it...).
It's not a house, nor even a barn....

I broke an egg.
Yes, it was a viable egg, blood leaked out the side. At first, I couldn't bear to look, then I did. There were veins running everywhere, and a dark spot...wonder if that's the eye or the heart? I need to look that up...

January was an uneventful month, besides one, my cast came off at the end of it. Now I wear a brace, hoping to be free from restraints soon.
