Hungry? A Cinnamon roll recipe

Cinnamon Rolls Recipe....it is a family favorite.

Parson's Wife Prized Cinnamon Rolls
Dough:
2 c bread flour (will need a total of 8 cups for finished product)
1/2 c sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 pkg yeast
1 stick butter (melt it ahead of time with milk)
1 1/4 c milk

Mix flour, sugar, salt, and yeast in bowl; stir well. In microwave melt milk and butter; once melted add to dry ingredients. Mix slowly with beater on lowest setting for 2 min.
Step 2: Dough
1 c flour
2 room temp eggs
Add flour and eggs to batter, Mix with beater for 1 minute on highest setting. Add more flour (from 4-6 cups, the dough varies each mix) Add a little at a time.
Step 3: Dough
Flour your work surface, roll dough out onto it. Gently knead dough for about 6 o 8 minutes. Round into a ball, place into bowl, and cover dishtowel or plastic wrap. Let set for 20 min. (in a warm area)
Step 4: Dough
Push dough down, and gently roll into a rectangle shape. (about 18 x 21) roughly.
Step 5: Dough & seasonings
1/2 c melted butter
1/3 c sugar
pecans or raisins (optional)
1/2 c cinnamon, use heavily

Spread melted butter onto dough, sprinkle cinnamon, Can add nuts or raisins now. Roll dough into a log. Cut into about 1" pinwheels (they will grow!) Spray a dish (I prefer glass) with nonstick spray, and lay pinwheels flat. Place into a preheated oven 375* for about 25 minutes remove from oven and glaze.

Glaze: 3 cups powdered sugar
1tsp vanilla
2 tsp warm water
Mix until well blended, add more water if necessary.

Serve warm with friends and family...and a large helping of love!

  2. This looks delicious!!! Can I use regular flour? I want to try these! I use to make homemade rolls like this on Christmas Day but my kids just didn't like them! They preferred Pillsbury, the horrors! But that recipe also used sour cream in the dough. So maybe I'll try this recipe for them! Enjoy!

  3. Thank you, they are yummy! I have never made them with regular flour...I love breads (this is not a good thing) so always keep bread flour handy...you could use reg. flour, but it will not turn out the same. I will say that WR flour (self-rising) makes the best bisquits, and I use that in my cornbreads too! So if you don't want to purchase breadflour, try the WR.
